Fèis Ìle 2027 will run from Friday 28 May to Sunday 6 June 2027: ten days, as in the 40th anniversary edition. The committee has already published the schedule of distillery days: the news is Portintruan, which joins the programme in full on the Monday, while Laggan Bay and Islay Ales return on the second Sunday. For tickets and events, the committee’s usual timetable points to February-March 2027.
Day by day
- Friday 28 May: festival opening evening.
- Saturday 29 May: Lagavulin, Islay Rum and Islay Whisky Vault; in the evening “The First Fling” at the Ramsay Hall, with ceilidh music.
- Sunday 30 May: Bruichladdich.
- Monday 31 May: Caol Ila and Portintruan.
- Tuesday 1 June: Laphroaig, Port Ellen and The Indie Whisky Fèis.
- Wednesday 2 June: Bowmore and Ardnahoe.
- Thursday 3 June: Kilchoman.
- Friday 4 June: Bunnahabhain and Jura.
- Saturday 5 June: Ardbeg.
- Sunday 6 June: Laggan Bay and Islay Ales.
What changes from 2026
Not much: the order of the days is the same as last year’s edition, which ran from 22 to 31 May. Lagavulin opens on the first Saturday, Ardbeg closes the second, and the second Sunday introduced in 2026 for the debut of Laggan Bay, Islay’s eleventh distillery, remains.
The new entry is Portintruan, the Elixir Distillers project: it was not operating in 2026, and for 2027 the committee puts it on the programme in full, on the same day as Caol Ila. Monday goes from one distillery to two.
Tickets and planning
You do not need a ticket for the festival itself: distillery days are open to all, some with a small entry fee. Tickets are for individual events, and those will almost certainly sell out fast, as usual. According to the committee, the official ones usually go on sale between February and March, while distillery events are booked closer to the time, from April.
Book the ferry well in advance too: the committee says festival-time bookings now usually happen between February and March. Sailings leave from Kennacraig, now with the new MV Isle of Islay in service, or you can fly from Glasgow with Loganair. Our interactive map of Islay helps with distances between distilleries.
The festival website already lists the 2028 dates as well: 26 May to 4 June. We will update this page as events, tickets and the first Fèis Ìle 2027 bottlings are announced.
